DSS actively supports Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. Most recently, DSS received an award from the Florida Sheriffs Association for donating 7 life-saving defibrillators to this worthy cause, a non-profit, residential childcare, and family service organization. The organization’s social workers, counselors, therapists and cottage parents help thousands of Florida’s needy and deserving children and their families each year. DSS proudly supports the Leo Fund of South Florida, which provides financial support to surviving families of police officers killed in the line of duty while insurance claims are pending.
